Answering the call of Our Lady by Inviting Our Diocese to Pray the Rosary
~George & Brenda D'Astous

The Diocesan Wide Rosary Procession began fifteen years ago as a response to Our Blessed Mother's request to pray the Rosary for the conversion of sinners.  She is asking us to repent from sin, focus on her Son, Jesus, and abide by the Ten Commandments.  In order to experience the true meaning of love, freedom, and tranquility, we must draw into a deeper union with Christ.  For it is only by turning away from sin and immorality that we can be in close union with Her Son, Jesus, present in The Most Holy Eucharist.

So, each year we invite the entire Diocese of Springfield to unite together and pray the most Holy Rosary to obtain spiritual guidance and blessings for our diocese, country, and the whole world.  While praying, we reflect on Our Blessed Mother's life and her unselfish actions which gave us the gift of Our Savior, Jesus Christ.  In contemplation, we call upon Mary to help prepare our hearts to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  By heeding to her call, we transform our hearts into the image and likeness of her Son, Jesus.
